Chapter 14: Finish? Start?

Maybe your asking why i titled my blog Finish? or Start?

I just realized this past week that im already graduating, i can't believe it. Last time im just a newbie or a freshman but right now im already a graduating student, i thought that im just dreaming but when i read all the things that i wrote in my internship journal i realized that im already at the nearly end of my internship journal and that means im already at the finale of my senior year in college.

Lot of memories are happened in my college life and one of my favorite part is our senior life because we experienced thesis that we look a government staff that record the information about the member of given population for short our job is Census. Some of our professor are laughing on us because we tell them our story or our experience on giving the company a survey questionnaire, some companies are ignoring us if they saw that were only walking in the industrial park. Also one of my favorite part in my senior year is my OJT, i thought that once i enter in the company all of the staff are already old and i will be surrounded by a professional people but one of my superior in the company saying that were all people here we eat same rice, meat any food there are no rich or poor but we are just equal in everything. I feel that my friends/ superior is already my second family they treat me as a normal person they taught me lot of things and also one of my favorite moment is when they treat me some foods.

I will never forget all the moments or the memories that i learned in my whole school year. Maybe it is the ending of my school year, im already near at the finish line but after this race or this school days what will i do next? It is the start of my new chapter in my life, new memories, friends, and many more. After i reach the finish line im sure that new challenges will come and im already out of my comfort zone no one will teach, no teachers that will assist you and most of all you need to stand your own. I should need to learn how to be tough, brave, strong and also to be smart at every time.

This day before i enter in the office i notice that the surroundings are clean and after inside of the office all files, folders, and some cabinets are all organize and some of the cabinet have a label, because of curiosity also im not used to see the folders in their tables sometimes they just put it on top of the cabinet but when i enter it is clean. I asked ma'am lalaine what happened in the office and then she laughed she told me that on March 9 they have a audit day from ISO, after that i asked ma'am lalaine if they also need to audit the MSD area and because of that she remember the 202 files of the employee's and she task me to organize, file all we need to file and i regret to ask again. kidding.

This is the day that we went out of the company, new experience and i learned lot things to my superior. We went to Social Security System (SSS) located at Lipa city, we arranged the benefits of the employee and i help my superior. While were in the SSS he taught me on how to apply an SSS ID, how to get an SSS number also the process of some loan in the SSS.

Audit day is the most tiring day for me. MSD are the one who are responsible for the 202 files of the employee. The auditors always ask one 202 files of every section after the other section i will return again in the MSD area just to get other 202 files and so on. The MSD area is 55 meters away in the office also in the area there is no electricity and it is so warm/ hot in the area because it is a closed room. New tiring experience for me but i enjoyed it because it is my first time to see how the auditors audit.

After the audit day all the files that been borrowed to the MSD staff i just return it in the MSD area and organized all the files. I assist my superior whole day also i help our HR manager on editing the company policies. Accomplish all my duties in this whole week.

This week i attended a seminar about Eco Mind Awareness. I just realized that the planet is already dying, our planet, the earth.

In this morning i just notice that the wind is so cold while the weather is sunny day. This year or this school year i notice all weather is weird example of it is, in the morning it is rainy and then after 3 or 4 hours it became sunny day and then in the afternoon its raining again. Also in this school year we experienced many storms, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration or the PAG ASA already released the typhoon name also the tropical cyclone that also entered in the Philippine Area of Responsibility last 2016 that we already experienced. There are 25 typhoons including the tropical cyclone that entered last 2016, and that is one topic that i learned in the seminar that i attend in the company where i am an intern. The title of the seminar is Eco- Mind Awareness.

I just continue to assist my superior and also i attend again the eco mind awareness seminar and i learn a lot of things about it. I become conservative in our environment also the used of electricity and water in the world is becoming short because of the global warming that is continuously happening right now and that is one of the cause of the earthquake, storms, typhoons, tsunami and many more. We must protect our world starting to our house, community and so on.

This day my superior ask me to check all the exams that the employees took yesterday at the eco mind awareness seminar. I also learned that the year 90's to 2014 the temperature get higher it raised 4%, the 4% is already high percent for us and it is important to know so the citizen can have an action it. After i checked the exam i just sort all the exams in the MSD area for the wholeday.

In this day we're late again and it's also raining. Im task to continue to sort all the examination in the MSD area. In the lunch time i ask my superior ma'am lalaine if she can help me because it is so many and i cannot finish it on time so ma'am lalaine ask joseph to help me. After lunch me and joseph exchange task he will sort all the exam while im going to fastener all the exam in their right folder.

Chapter 11: Fighting!

The most embarrassing week for me is this week i cried because they tease me that my bf is better than me, i can't handle it i cried. I know it is not enough reason so i will share my story for this week.

Early in the morning one admin staff ask me to help him, i ask my superior if i can help sir.aci and then she agree on it. Sir aci gave a task to tally all the answer in vehicle inspection that they survey last friday. I just tally it all for the whole day it is very confusing because the instruction is they need to answer back to back of the paper, for the front of the paper it is for bus type and for the back it is for the van. Some employees erase the bus and replace it with van and then it is very confusing.

In the morning i just finish to tally the vehicle inspection and then sir ask joseph to help because sir aci need it immediately and he ask me to make a summary report and send it to his email. While im doing the tally in other paper  i ask joseph why he just staring at the paper and then he told me that he didn't know what to do, i explain to him and then while im explaining it to him he didn't get it so i explain it again after that time i told him that i had headache yesterday because of this report and then he told me that "Because your not using your brain" and then i feel pain in my chest and i think im going to cry after a minute sir.aci told me that compare with joseph he excelled me because joseph finish the task that sir aci gave to him compare to me that im still struggling in this task. After that i just excuse myself and went to the cr and i cry :'( i just burst out my feelings after that i just pray and then i become silent for this whole week. But i finish my report.

After what happened yesterday i become silent and ma'am lalaine my superior ask me just to file and arrange all the process by their standard number. I just stay for the whole day in MSD area and file some process.

I just assist ma'am lalaine in arranging the employees training schedule and i become a Photo copier machine girl again, but this time i just scan all the Attendance starting this year and send it to my superior ma'am lalaine. In the afternoon ma'am aliene one of my superior is still ignoring me and then she just gave task to joseph while im just waiting for their tasks, Sir aci ask me if i can help him with the inventory of the safety shoes i ask sir aci where is the storage room and then he told me that i need to lift the boxes and put it in the storage room. I use push cart to transfer the safety shoes and after that i count all the safety shoes also their sizes and right in the inventory sheet and gave a printed summary to sir aci.

Today is the preparation of some man in this world because of this incoming valentines day. So like others our company have a seminar about the good relationship and bad relationship, also in this day i help ma'am nays she is the one who incharge about the incoming events because every section must have a representative. We make some props in the photobooth because we have a photobooth that look like a wedding booth. But i just help them i think twice because i don't like the attitude of ma'am nays she can't approach the intern in a right way, she approach me just she didn't gave me any directions she demand. After that day i never talk to that staff i just don't like her attitude i just need to stay away to maintain my ojt world hahaha.Me and my co interns are talking about the upcoming valentines day, im asking them what are their surprises on there girlfriends and they just laughing because they said that its just their regular day for them and it cost money if they give their girlfriends a flowers or chocolate.

Im excited for this day because its valentines day. Im assuming to receive a flower or chocolates from my boyfriend, but so sad because i just assume because when i saw him in waiting at the entrance of the company he's not carrying something and i thought that he just hide his gift for me but at the end of this day i just assume again. In the its just a regular day for me i just assist ma'am aliene and ma'am lalaine and also file in the MSD area.

Im still assume that he have a late surprise or late gift for me but i receive nothing, last night my mother ask me that if i receive something from my boyfriend and i told her that nothing and my mother told me that because we're already have a long relationship so my bf thought that giving a gift is not important for me. In this day im sad and mad because i assume and then my superior ma'am aliene is angry at me, because she let me attend to the "PAG-IBIG Seminar" and inside of the meeting room im with my co intern and ma'am lalaine while im listening ma'am lalaine go outside and she didn't come back after that and then my co intern also go outside and didn't come back also and im so bored in the meeting and also im so sleepy because i sleep late last night and the reason for that is i talk to my brother via skype. I also went out after 10 mins and i talk to ma'am aliene i told her that i can't stay there because im sleepy and its rude to if the speaker saw me that im sleeping. In the afternoon we have a celebration because today is sir aci's birthday.

This morning some staff of HR/Admin are absent or late. I was joking with my co interns that we have each desktop because some of our superior is absent or late. My superior ma'am aliene is ignoring me and i know what happened, when i told her that im sleepy in the seminar she's mad at me because of that she's mad at me. Because of ma'am aliene i don't want to go near at her because i don't like to be mad also about her attitude last time she's also jealous when we become close to our other superior and now about i told her. I just stay in the whole day in the MSD area i just file and inventory all the folders of the employees.

Safety patrol in the morning. Same as yesterday we continue to inventory all folders of the employees because our superior ma'am lalaine need to know who don't have a folder and also we need to know if they are already separated in the company. About the case of one my superior ma'am aliene she continue ignoring me but this time she already acknowledge my presence i think once or twice but  after that time she continue to ignore me. But in the end of this day my boyfriend have surprise at me we're going to watch PBA live at moa arena my favorite teams are competing for this semi finals. Star Hotshots vs Ginebra.

Chapter 9: Unexpected Week

This week is full of unexpected / amazing week for me. I realized in this week that i am a pure filipino, why? because  filipino characteristics is being generous, helpful, industrious and many more. This is what happened.

Monday in the morning i have this runny nose when im in the company i always sneeze but i maintain myself clean because one of my superior is very strict if one of the employee is sick he won't go near to her/him. Ma'am lalaine ask me and my bf to go in the MSD area to file some stock documents and put it in the separated folders. While were doing it i keep sneezing because of the dust in the MSD area i told you already that MSD is located at the factory 5 the last production area in the company, after i sneeze i feel something and i check my handkerchief i saw a blood and i told to my bf that im going to the clinic, i didn't run because its prohibited to run in the company so i walk fast when im already inside of the clinic the nurse assist me and gave me an ice bag and automatically put it in the nasal bone part its in the boundary of my forehead and dorsum (part of the nose) while im putting the ice bag on my nasal bone part our nurse ask me that if i had a dengue before and i answered it that i already had twice the first time is when in my high school days and the other one is last year july and then i told the nurse that last saturday i have fever and then she gave me a clearance and then a prescription to have a CBC w/ Platelet count because maybe i have a dengue. I ask a permission to my superior and then she gave me an clearance so the guard can let me go out of the company. After the check up the result is fine / normal but the doctor told me that i have this infection in my nose that cause me to my colds but the doctor told me that im fit to work.

I just assist my superior on the OJT applicants and also we conducted an interview to the ojt applicants. Some ojt applicants are asking me if im already a regular staff here in the company because when i talk to them, the jolly / bubbly person will automatically disappear and a new person will appear. A confident and professional person that will assist and interview an applicant.

For this day ma'am lalaine is absent and i need to assist ma'am aliene. Ma'am lalaine already talk to me and assign a task while she's absent and i need to file some in the MSD area, In the afternoon one of my supervisor Sir. Aci is called by our Manager because the japanese executives need their token, the token is like a car key simulator but sir aci place it in the cabinet but when sir aci check it he cannot find it and our manager give sir aci until tomorrow but after that sir aci is never stop looking in the cabinet. Until the end of our day has come and he need to continue searching it tomorrow.

Regular day for me i just assist my superior and continue to file in the MSD area. I thought that this day will be a regular day for me but it's not because this day is very tiring day for me because i need to find the lost token because sir aci is already give up on finding it he said that he already search it everywhere and then he already organized all the things just to find it, i ask sir aci if he already check the back of this cabinet he said yes and then he let me to search i also ask sir aci that if we cannot find it who will pay for it? He told me that price of one token is already 7,000 pesos and the lost token is two so it worth 14k and then im shocked because that is already big money and sir aci will pay it because he is the one that japanese trust to keep that token. I ask sir aci if he already check the back of the drawer? because when you pull the drawer there is a space behind of it and then he told me that our manager and ma'am aliene already check it, so i didn't bother to check again but im curious because if this cabinet have a lock and inside of this cabinet have a lot of iphone why the thief will stole the token? and then i check again when i put my hands behind the cabinet i feel something and then when i lift it i saw a small envelope and at the back of it there is a name "mini token" and then i immediately call sir aci and he is very happy for me. He talk to the japanese and then he also told the japanese that i am the one who find it after that the japanese told sir aci that the half amount of the token is my reward but i said no to it and im happy just to help others :)

Friday morning we have a safety patrol and for this day we find a four pieces cigarette filter and our safety coordinator will investigate about it because it is far from the exact building and it is close to the wall from the other company. Last time our safety coordinator also told us that the other company that is our neighbor flick their cigarettes in the corridor of our company so this time our safety coordinator will investigate and if he find out that our employees are the one who liable for it there is no donut for the whole company. Also sir aci talk to me that he will treat me because i found the missing token and also i told him that its ok but he insist because if i didn't found it he will surely pay 14k but if he treat me he will just cost 500 pesos.

Chapter 8: The Sidekick

    I become a sidekick for this week. Yes! a sidekick why? because i kick over here kick over there kick everywhere LOL :D But the true reason is this whole week i helped all the staff in the Admin/ HR Section and some staff even though their are not my superior.

My superior is very busy in this day because every line leader in every section they need the results of the exams of the employees, my superior need to complete all the exams that includes the written exam and the hands- on exam. My superior ask me to help her to get the hands on exam inside the production area so as a intern i need to follow my superior. Inside of the production area some line leaders are not in their area because they checking every section inside of their assigned area so i need to wait, while waiting one employee not just an employee she's a pregnant employee ask me for my help because im an intern and im a nice person ( oops! don't start with me) so i help her, she need to lift the box. After that session i go back to the office and told to my superior that all line leaders are still roaming. While my superior is busy i assist other Hr admin staff because my superior ask other hr/admin staff if i can assist them and then they agree on it.

In this day i become the sidekick of MSD area hahaha i already explain what is MSD right? So for the this whole day my best friend is all the exams of the employees i just attach all their exams in there right folder. For this whole day its just me and MSD but i almost forgot that in this day we ate our incentives because its DONUT TIME!

Start of the month february i assigned in the recruitment section because one of my superior is from recruitment section, i assist my superior her name is ma'am aliene (pronounce it Aleen) she handle all ojt applicants and some applicants. While im assisting my superior one staff ask the help from my superior but my superior is busy so she assigned me to help the staff, her problem is about sa xerox machine or the photo copier machine she explain what happened to the copier machine but the problem is just its has a paper jam so i fixed it. While im arranging the documents in the recruitment section ma'am aliene ask me to get some folders in the ojt section because i need to update some ojt about their requirements.

In this day i help ma'am aliene in interviewing an ojt applicant its very awkward because i interview an applicant that is older than me and also i help her when some ojt applicants are going to past their requirements im task to assist them to the clinic for their medical consultation in the company's doctor and also im going to file their requirements in the ojt's folder. Im just a regular intern but some employees already treat me like im a regular employee. One of my superior ma'am lalaine also taught me on how to update or encode the manufacturing qualification list its has this critical method that she taught me and she also told me that this encoding method is for the regular staff only and also she told me that the things that i learned here is for the company only.

Chapter 7: Childish Act

I have a superior that is so arghhhh! But as an Intern i need to be patient, that is the number one rule when entering the real world or the real work is. Know and adjust on your environment especially on your officemates.

This is the first day of the first week, first time that i enter in the office after we finish the bulletin board of the company. When i enter in the office my superior number 2 ask me to help her to sign on the attendance, the attendance is about the Monuzukuri meeting. Im shy in the first place because i don't know whose on the list, after that scene im just idle in my seat because my superior 1 is ignoring me and i don't why. My superior 2 is still busy and she's not giving me an instruction any more and im just waiting in my seat. Until the end of our work.

Our HR Supervisor ask me to guide an AirCon Technician Applicant. My superior number 1 is looking at me like she's going to eat me because she is the one that is responsible for the any applicant and then i just smile on her.After i gave the exam to the applicants i just wait them to finish there exam and then i just ask my superior number 2 on how to do a report about the applicants because i need to pass a summary report about the applicants to our HR Supervisor, but in the end no one is accepted because the salary rate that they want is higher than the basic salary here in the province. Our superior number 1 is still ignoring me and then one of our co intern notice that our superior number 1 is ignoring us that means me and my bf, i explain to him that i don't know what happened and then after that talk one of our superior talk to me that superior number 1 is always like that because she is jealous that we became close to the other superior.

Still my superior is ignoring me and i think she's mad at me because this day i don't have tasks to do im just idle but our superior is just talking and giving a tasks the other intern while he's still doing his first task while me im just staring at them. I finished my day just staring at them.

I just assist my other superior on organizing the 4m + 2m meeting and i learned a lot from that meeting, attending a meeting is one of the most favorite part in the company because my superior is always let me attend on every meeting that she organize. I learn in the 4m + 2m meeting that every process, machine, or people is need to be evaluated if they already approved it the process, machine or people can already start off.

This is the day were my superior already notice me and she already talk to me but the first word that she told me that she thought that im absent for this day, because the other intern is absent because he go to his school to attend the last day of their foundation week. I talk to her i told her that this day im going to take a half day, so she don't have a intern she already gave me a tasks because she have no choice because she have lot things to do.

I was preparing the documents when my supervisor arrive she ask me if i can help her in interviewing some OJT applicants and then if i can prepare some entrance exams for the applicants, and then i answered my supervisor that i can manage it because my other supervisor already teach me on what are the exams that i need to distribute to the OJT applicants. After i distribute their exams i just waited them to finish their exam and after that i checked it and interview them but i ask them about their family background only.


January 10 - 11, 2017

We file our leave form for this day just to finish out thesis,  and unfortunately we didn't finish it because one of our panels is not available that time and the reason for that is she's absent for two days and she's catching up because its already our prelim exam. She scheduled our group on saturday before she start her class in morning. We already lost our 16 hours just for the signature of our panelists because without their signature no graduation.

A cold morning for this day and also lots of duties or task that i need to finish for this day because were absent for two days and lots of task were assign for me and one of them are responsibility of Human Resource staff because i need to interview four OJT applicants and one of them is 2 years older than me and he expect his monthly allowance as an ojt is 4k and then i discuss that as an ojt here at the company our monthly allowance is 75 pesos per day and then it will be discuss at the orientation.

I just continue what i did yesterday i interview three ojt applicants and then after that i just realized that i can be a HR manager hahahaha because i have already a background on what are the things that HR managers responsibilities and also our my supervisor also discuss some of his responsibility being a HR staff and that is timekeeping and then when he teach me about timekeeping one of my supervisor ask me to go to the MSD and find the document and she told me that, the document that i need to find is lost for almost three months so i need patience to find that document and i finished my day just finding that document.

MUTUAL? When i go back at the office i just look in the eyes of my supervisor and then she already understand me. I didn't find the document. BOW!

sorry for short story. no awkward moments for this week and its just a normal week for me

Maybe? Because where just a people, peoples are not perfect, peoples make an mistakes, and people can't always fit in any situation in this world. I remembered some of my experiences last 2016 when we just start our second semester or the start of our OJT we were so nervous, scared and excited, we were nervous because we don't have enough idea on the company that we chosen and then scared because we don't know the attitude of our superior and last but not the least were excited because at last were free! hahahaha! no home works, no reports, no group activities, no quiz and  no exams! hahaha! but when we enrolled in our second semester class, then booom! we have class every saturday huhuhuh :'( (insert crying face) and the most surprising is when we attend our first class our professor discuss our requirements for this second semester and after that? we are shocked that time because we thought we don't need to do something we just need to focus on our OJT and our thesis and then we just expect it and its so hard to expect something huhuhuhu :'( (crying face again) Lesson learn for 2016  don't expect, nakakamatay (its dangerous to your health) hahahaha.   Let's start my journey in this new year 2017 as an awkward ojt.

Our company started in year 2017 in january 4, 2017 lots of employees greeted each other and also before we start our work we had an General Assembly (GA) every first week or second week of the month we need to have an GA to update all the employees on what are the status of their work. After our GA our manager ask me if i can type some of the articles about the rules of the company, it has 12 pages bond paper and i need to finish it for the whole day but i failed.

I continue to type all the things i need to type and after that i helped our nurse to input some documents in their office because in our company their is no OJT in the clinic section so they need helped but after i encode all the things my supervisor ask me to join her in interviewing a new applicant for OJT. I thought i just need to listen but after the first applicant my supervisor ask me to interview the next applicant at first im nervous because this is just my first time interviewing an applicant but in the of the interview i enjoyed it.

Donut day! yes! because of zero accident and we didn't see a cigarette bar any where in the company and that means that we are clear and then our prize is a donut. Our donut for this month is Dunkin Donut and it so delicious, after our break time we interview again lots of OJT applicant because some schools are already starting their second semester. When i interview some IE students and that course is also related to my course (BSBA Operations Management) when i asked them about a japanese word that i know that they also know it, the word is KAIZEN the meaning of it is Continuous Improvement but when i asked them they didn't know and im shocked that time because your already a 5th year student but they didn't know but i didn't expressed that im shocked that time. :)

This day is the start of my new week. My task for this day is to give the employees their exam per section and per process, because in every section their is different process and procedure. Their exam is for their every 6 months exam, every month their is a lot things that could happened like accident, calamity, absences, promotion, resignation and many more. In this exam the company may know who are the employees that are been promoted and also in this exam the company will be updated on who are the employees that have more knowledge in their process. In the schedule that was given to me from the line leader in every section in the schedule indicate that every day  their will be an examinee.

Like what i did yesterday, i continue my work. While their taking their exam some employees asking me about the upcoming christmas party that will be conducting in Dec 23, because the employees also told me that their last christmas party some of the OJT always win a grand prize in the raffle. They ask me if im coming in their christmas party and answer them that finish your exam first before i answer your question because if my supervisor caught me talking to them while their taking their exam im dead ( KIDDING) :) and then after that they start answering again their test paper. After finishing their exam i answer their questions and after that i began checking their paper so my supervisor can start to input their grades.

We start the day with an exercise, but every morning before the bell rings their is an japanese music that will play and then we the employees start to do our daily exercise. For the whole day we just file the documents on the MSD, it was so hot and also lots of dusts because the real MSD office is still renovating so the documents are not yes organized.

Tomorrow is our Christmas Party, for this day i just wait for the schedule of the examiners and also lots of the employees are waiting outside of our office, they waiting for their excuse letter because they want to practice inside of the company for their presentation in the christmas party tomorrow. In this day i just wait until my supervisor ask me to do something because all of the things that they ask me to do i always do it fast.

CHRISTMAS PARTY!

This is my first time to attend an christmas party / year end party. Our  manger do my make up for free, first im shocked that she called me and then she ask me that if she can do my make up ask her if it is free and then she answered me yes. Also i won in the raffle i got the washing machine and then the organizer  gave me an air cooler, at first im surprise and then after that i wonder because i can lift a washing machine after that i checked the box of it, it is an air cooler and then ask the organizer he told me that the one after me already took the washing machine and then he also told me that the air cooler is more expensive rather than the washing machine and then i accept the air cooler. :)
