Chapter 3: Birthday Week

BIRTHDAY WEEK

December 12, 2015

                For this day we just file a employees files alphabetically again. I know that im already a college student but when organizing the files alphabetically I always sing the alphabetical song. After that my supervisor ask me to make sure that all the examiners are not using their phones and also they don’t cheat or talk while they taking their exam. For the whole day I just do the same thing and I just realized that even their already have a job they also cheat and I saw the whole scene so I confronted them, I told them that they already work over 6 months in their section and then they didn’t know the answer in their test? After that they all become quite.

December 13, 2016         

               1 day to go its already my birthday, and also for this day I just continue the same thing that I do yesterday. While im waiting for the examinees I also checked the papers of the last examiners so my supervisor can sign and input their grades in the system. After I checked the papers I just put it in my supervisors desk, while im taking my lunch some employees are smiling at me and my bf ask me if know them but I answered him that I didn’t know all of them and then I just realized that maybe they recognized me because I am the one who guide them while they taking their exam. After the day on the company me and my bf go to the Alumni Gathering on our former school and it’s a tiring day for us and tomorrow is already my birthday. J

Today is my birthday! Im already 20 years old and I took my leave in this day because I need to cook and prepared all the things before my visitors came.

December 15, 2016

            Morning at the company lots of employee greeted me and my supervisor greeted me and handed me a gift. I segregate all the paper by their sections and check all of the paper if my supervisor already sign every test paper. For whole day I just finished all the papers and also ask every line leader if there is an employee that is not yet taking their exam.

December 16, 2016

 The day where our nurse in the company borrowed me to help her to input all the name of the employees who get a medicine for the whole  month, also I helped our nurse in her inventory for the medicine.

Chapter 2. Xerox Machine Girl

Another week and another day at the company for this day i am an awkward Xerox machine girl. Why? I tell you why this is what happened.

December 5, 2016 8:00 am

when I arrived at the company I organized all the files that my supervisor ask me to, I finished it fast and then I ask my supervisor if there is anything else that I need to do? She told me that just sit and she will just call me. When I am looking around one of the admin called me and gave me a task that I need to accomplished 2-3 days but it is better if I finished it in 2 days, my task is I need to scan the whole rim about the company policy it is 200-2010 pages so I start it already. I need to type first the tittle name of the paper before I begin to scan paper, so I stay at the side of the Xerox machine. The Xerox machine is for the admin section, accounting section and also for the other line leader when im scanning the paper one employee ask me if I can photocopy her ID and also a form of SSS because im just an ojt I agree on it, after I photocopy her ID and Form one of the employee also ask me the same thing so I also agree on it until the next employee ask me again and again and again until the lunch time came. It is very awkward for me because while im doing it the employee is just right beside me and waiting their copy, when I realized my task is not yet finished so after lunch I need to scan all of it. 

December 6, 2016

In this day we attend a meeting about the control of documents. The awkward moment on this day was when I am late in the meeting, because my supervisor lunch time is just 30 mins but my lunch time is 1 hour and I didn't know that I need to attend in that meeting because im just an ojt, im not that important in the meeting. When I entered the meeting room all eyes are on me and that is very awkward I don’t know what to do if I need to smile or do I need to be shock or do I need to ignore them? But I in that time I chose to ignore them and enter quietly and also sit quietly. After the meeting when we entered our office and then boom! Black out no electricity on the whole company.

December 8, 2016 8:15 a.m

OMG! First time, we are late 15 minutes because in that day, is Tanauan day so no class all of schools in Tanauan that means no traffic. I forgot that it is Tanauan day and I assume that the shuttle is late because I waited at the waiting area every morning 7:15 a.m but in that day the shuttle is early but I wait at the waiting area until 7:30 and then I realized that im already late. I arrived at the company 8:15 and then the ate lady guard scolded me because im late. I thought that is the last bad thing that will happen to me but it is not,  guess what happened? The glass of water spilled on my pants! But I need to finished my task, while im walking lots of employees are looking at my pants it is super awkward I don’t know what will I do. But there is a saying “life must go on” (Hahahah) I need to help our supervisor to designate the exam and watch the examiners.

Friday! Patrol check again. My supervisor ask me to take a picture on what happened in the patrol check but I make a wrong move when I took a picture of our hr manager walking, just walking but my supervisor ask me to take a picture if the person is picking up a trash so and then im dead. Joke! Im so shy I don’t know what to do but my supervisor make an awkward smiled at me.

November 28, 2016 7:50 a.m

This day started my OJT and for the first time me and my bf ride on a shuttle. We waited the lipa shuttle, while we are waiting on the exact location where our supervisor told us, we we're waiting for almost 15 minutes. After waiting, we saw an employee wearing the same uniform of the company. We followed him to know where the exact location the shuttle will stop is. We were like a stalker. When the shuttle came we were like a piglet that enter in the poultry of chicken it is so awkward because when we enter inside of the shuttle bus all of the employee are looking at us. After the awkward moment entering the shuttle I just noticed that it is very quiet and it is very cold. We arrived at the company, we waited our supervisor since she must get done all the things to get acquainted us with another employee, after waiting our supervisor called us inside of the office and introduced us in every section and also known to the manager, supervisor, executive director, some line leaders and also the president but that time I am the only one being introduced because I am the only one with the supervisor because we came from a meeting, that meeting is about the control unit supply and the rest of the day taught us on how to use the photocopy machine, scan and unforgettable of all is the pager, it is where you can page the name of the employee im so nervous when I try it because the whole company can hear my voice.

Every morning before the employee start on their duties there is a music, a Japanese music that will play and then some of the employees will start an exercise. Because we are just a newbie in the company, we follow the exercise, but when I saw the other OJT from the other school, he’s just standing, and then after that i ask him if it is required to join in that exercise but he just laugh because he said that he is also like us when he’s still a newbie in the company and then he told us that it is not required to join. This day my supervisor ask me to help her to designate a paper to the employees inside of the office to start their exchange gift in the paper they will just write their code name. My supervisor ask me to help her in designating the file from every section, before we go to every section we ask our safety supervisor to borrow a cap, a safety goggles and also a mask because in the company safety first and the company motto is zero accident.

In this day I arranged all the files of the employee alphabetically because in the company they all have a soft and hard copy of the employees and some of the files are not in proper place, all of the files I arranged it if they complete all the requirements before I file it inside of their folders after that I will arrange all of their surname alphabetically. 

December 2, 2016

The first Friday of out OJT. Finally! Our supervisor gave us a pen and also a notebook incase that we have things that we need to write. Every Friday morning in the company we have a patrol check. In patrol check, all of the representative of by section are required to join in patrol check. We need to check the surrounding of the company and pick the trash or a cigar bar. if we saw a cigar bar, all of the employee will not have a prize and the prize is donut. For this day the unforgettable for me is when my supervisor told me that she's angry, she is angry because before, some employees always notice her. but now some employees notice her just to ask what is my name.
